Notice Of Funds Availability (NOFA) - Rental Properties
The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) has received $561,326 in federal funding from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Disaster Recovery program to assist in the repair and reconstruction of rental properties damaged by Hurricane Ike, which made landfall on September 13, 2008. Only rental properties occupied by low-to-moderate income households will be eligible to apply, and the property owner must agree to keep the units affordable for five years. The H-GAC program will only assist rental properties that are single-family homes, or multi-family units up to a fourplex in size. The property sites must be located in either Brazoria County, Matagorda County or Walker County. Eligibility criteria are similar to the owner-occupied disaster recovery housing program, with primary criteria being occupancy by low-to-moderate income households, and documented damage by Hurricane Ike. Additional details will be available at the NOFA application workshop on March 24, 2010. H-GAC will host a NOFA application workshop at the H-GAC Office, 3555 Timmons Lane, Houston, Texas 77027 on March 24, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The deadline for application submittals is April 24, 2010.








Application Deadline

Due to program limitations, participation is limited.
H-GAC will be accepting Intake Applications until
July 31, 2010 (Deadline).
After July 31st, 2010, H-GAC can no longer accept Intake Applications. If the participation limit has not been reached, H-GAC will announce Intake Application acceptance dates, deadlines, locations etc. Please visit our website periodically for updates.

The H-GAC Ike Disaster Recovery Housing Program is for those whose homes were damaged by Hurricane Ike, which made landfall on September 13, 2008. Participation is limited and specific eligibility requirements apply. Assistance may be in the form of Housing Repair, Rehabilitation, Reconstruction. No cash assistance provided.

Are you a homeowner or renter whose primary residence was damaged by Hurricane Ike?
 
Is your home still damaged and in need of repair?
 
Are you unable to repair the damage with aid from FEMA, insurance, or other sources of assistance?
 
Is your home in one of the following five counties: Austin, Brazoria, Matagorda, Walker, or Waller?
 

Are you a low to moderate income household?

If you answered YES to all of these questions, you MAY be eligible to participate in the H-GAC Ike Disaster Recovery Housing Program. Certain eligibility requirements and restrictions apply.
