Hurricane Ike Disaster Recovery Housing Program

The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) is administering the Hurricane Ike Housing Recovery Program for Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Matagorda, Montgomery, Walker, and Waller counties to repair or replace homes damaged as a result of Hurricane Ike, which made landfall September 13, 2008.

Housing recovery services for qualified property owners can include:

This program covers Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Harris (other than Houston), Fort Bend, Matagorda, Montgomery, Walker and Waller counties and all cities therein.

NOTE: Galveston and Liberty counties and the cities of Galveston and Houston administer their own programs. Contact information for the county and city programs can be found at the General Land Office Disaster Recovery Housing Sub-Recipient webpage.
