Notice Of Funds Availability (NOFA) - Rental Properties The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) has received $561,326 in federal funding from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Disaster Recovery program to assist in the repair and reconstruction of rental properties damaged by Hurricane Ike, which made landfall on September 13, 2008. Only rental properties occupied by low-to-moderate income households will be eligible to apply, and the property owner must agree to keep the units affordable for five years. The H-GAC program will only assist rental properties that are single-family homes, or multi-family units up to a fourplex in size. The property sites must be located in either Brazoria County, Matagorda County or Walker County. Eligibility criteria are similar to the owner-occupied disaster recovery housing program, with primary criteria being occupancy by low-to-moderate income households, and documented damage by Hurricane Ike. Additional details will be available at the NOFA application workshop on March 24, 2010. Instructions on completing the current application form can be found here: Rental Application Instructions (PDF) H-GAC will host a NOFA application workshop at the H-GAC Office, 3555 Timmons Lane, Houston, Texas 77027 on March 24, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The deadline for application submittals is April 24, 2010. |
